The event is hosted by the Bureau of Land Management, U.S. Army, FORT Friends and the Monterey Off Road Cycling Association. Staff and volunteers will collect native seeds for use in replanting, spread straw to help slow erosion, wack weeds and tidy up trails.

Volunteers should wear closed-toe shoes and appropriate clothing for outdoor work. Please register ahead of events to get access to meeting locations and carpool instructions: https://signup.com/go/DEfQrJz. Although BLM public lands are dog friendly, owners are asked to leave their pets at home for these events.

We believe partnerships and inclusion are vital to managing sustainable, working public lands. National Public Lands Day events bring hundreds of thousands of volunteers together to help with various projects designed to restore and enhance public parks, forests, waterways and more. From trail maintenance to tree planting—volunteers of all ages and abilities roll up their sleeves and work side-by-side to care for public lands.

Public lands keep America not only beautiful, but also strong. The Fort Ord National Monument offers a rich history honoring its military heritage surrounded by rolling hills and oak woodlands with more than 86 miles of recreational trails for hiking, biking and horseback riding.
